On a peculiarly German scandal
Olaf Scholz and his vice-Chancellor, Robert Habeck, took a plane full of journalists and industry bigwigs to Canada at the start of the week as they attempted to convince Ottawa to ship its bountiful reserves of natural gas across the Atlantic.
But the trip turned into a PR disaster before the plane even landed. The two leaders were photographed in intimate conversation with their entourage - and no one was wearing a face mask!
