Good morning,

  • Germany’s climate activists are nothing if not inventive. In their latest stunt they claim to have pulled up 250 ‘no limit’ signs on German autobahns. The signs - a white circle with five black lines through it - mark the point at which BMW drivers put their foot on the throttle and roar into the distance. "We’ve given up on waiting for the transport minister, who only makes policy for the car lobby. We are now fulfilling the wishes of the people ourselves,” a spokesman claimed. Something that you might not expect about the activists, given that they are convinced that they are the last generation who can stop a climate catastrophe, is that their demands are actually quite humble. They are calling for a speed limit of 100 km/h on the autobahn and subsidised rail travel for all.
